Celebrate Island Women 2017: Second Annual Women's Network Fundraiser
Women's Network PEI Board of Directors is organizing the second annual fundraising event on November 13, 2017. This is an excellent opportunity for local businesses and individuals to show their support for Island women.
For more than 30 years, Women's Network PEI has dedicated itself to improve the status of women in our community. Acting as a forum for the voices of women in PEI, the not-for-profit organization aims to provide opportunities for women to realize power, knowledge, abilities, vision, and financial security.
For the second time, we are planning an evening of celebration of Island women with award winning singer-songwriter Irish Mythen, and an improv comedy troupe. This year we will also honour the founders of Women's Network PEI. A reception will preceed the performances, and a raffle will be held to give away awesome prize baskets to fortunate winners. While our performers are sure to draw a crowd, the success of this fundraising event will rely heavily on support from the Island community — businesses and individuals.

The funds raised will be used to help run programs that engage not only Island women, but also men (parenting programs, programs promoting healthy masculinity), girls, and boys, and the community in general — because at Women's Network PEI we believe that every member of our community, regardless of gender, age, or economic status, is affected by the way the society treats women and girls. It is very important that we all take part in efforts to achieve true equality for women, for the benefit of all of us.
