No-cost career exploration workshops for Jr. High and High School aged students

Workshops will provide a safe place for girls and gender-diverse youth to explore career paths in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) and Trades.

SHIFT to STEM Student Workshops

Women’s Network PEI is offering no-cost career exploration workshops for Jr. High and High School aged students (ages 13-18). These workshops will provide a safe place for girls and gender-diverse youth to explore career paths in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) and Trades.

The workshops will highlight career paths (post-secondary, apprenticeships, etc.) and provide fun and engaging hands-on learning activities. Participants will also be able to meet mentors who currently work within one of these chosen career paths.

There are three workshops being held across the island:


Climate/Environment Workshop
Location: Suite 102, 8 Stan Macpherson Way, Charlottetown, PE
Date: October 1 from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm 

Together with STEAM PEI, Women’s Network PEI will be hosting a climate science workshop October 1st. In this workshop participants will hear about different climate science career options on PEI and take part in an activity that demonstrates the impact of climate change on drinking water.  

The registration deadline is September 28th.


Agriculture Workshop
Location: Soleil Farms 891 S Melville Rd, Bonshaw, PE C0A 1C0
Date: October 7th from 9:30 am - 12:00 pm 

Join us at Soleil’s Farm on October 7th. Participants will learn about sustainable farming practices on PEI, gain hands-on experience harvesting carrots, tour the farm, and learn about the journey of starting a market garden here on PEI.

The registration deadline is October 1st.


Trades Workshop
Location: 2754 Sparrows Road ( route312) St.Peters Bay
Date: November 4th, 2022 from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm  

Our Trades workshop will take place in St Peters Bay and will highlight several trades careers on PEI. Participants will learn from mentors about working in the trades and gain valuable experience by engaging in a variety of hands-on activities related to carpentry, electrical and plumbing.
