Women’s Network PEI advances gender equity through systemic and societal change by centering the collective voices of marginalized women and gender-diverse people. Position Summary
The Trade HERizons Program Coordinator helps plan, organize, and run the Trade HERizons program from start to finish. This role makes sure everything stays on track, activities run smoothly, and participants are supported throughout their experience. The Coordinator works closely with the Program Manager/Director, Facilitators and partners to deliver a well-organized and engaging program. Reporting to: Program Manager/Director and Executive Director
Trade HERizons is a career exploration and college preparation program for women and gender-diverse people, focusing on exposure to trades and technology careers, enhancing essential skills, and career exploration, and personal development. Participants experience hands-on learning opportunities with Holland College and the Construction Association PEI, meet mentors, tour employers’ facilities, and earn training certifications.
Key Responsibilities
Program Coordination & Administration
- Plan and organize program schedules, activities, and timelines
- Coordinate outreach and stay in regular contact with partners, service providers, and participants
- Schedule guest speakers, training sessions, site tours, and college visits
- Arrange logistics such as space bookings, materials, and transportation
- Track attendance and follow up with participants as needed
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date program records, including participant information, attendance and evaluations
- Use spreadsheets and online tools to organize and manage program dates
- Share schedule updates and important information with staff and participants in a timely way
Program Delivery & Oversight
- Help ensure all program activities run smoothly and on schedule
- Provide on-site support during the program, step in to assist or lead activities when facilitators need support
- Monitor participant engagement and address any concerns early
- Support facilitators by preparing materials, coordinating sessions and troubleshooting issues
- Training, coaching and evaluation of facilitators in collaboration with Program Manager/Director
- Help maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment
Relationship Building & Participant Support
- Build and maintain strong relationships with partners, instructors, employers, and community organizations
- Connect regularly with Employment Assistance Providers and funders to support program delivery
- Provide ongoing support to participants during and after the program
- Help connect participants to community resources, training, or employment opportunities
- Handle sensitive information carefully and follow privacy and confidentiality requirements
Team Support & Communication
- Work closely with Program Manager/Director and team to solve programs and improve the program
- Communicate clearly and professionally with all stakeholders
- Help address conflicts or challenges in a respectful and timely way
- Take on other related tasks as needed to support the team and program

Working Conditions
- This role is mainly based in an office or classroom setting with minimal physical demands. Some standing may be required during program activities.
- Occasional travel may be required.
Qualifications and Experience
- Post secondary education in a related field (such as social services, education, community development, administration) or a combination of education and relevant experience
- 1-3 years experience in program coordination, administration or community based work
- Experience working with diverse populations, including women and gender diverse individuals
- Strong organizational skills and experiencing managing schedules, events, or multiple tasks at once
- Experience maintaining accurate records, tracking attendance, and managing program data
- Comfortable using digital tools such as Google Workspace, Zoom, Basecamp, Canva and other online platforms
- Experience supporting or facilitating group activities, workshops, or training sessions
- Strong communication skills, including writing emails, coordinating with partners, and speaking with groups
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism
Considered an asset
- Experience in employment programs, skills training, or career development initiatives
- Knowledge of trades, technology careers, or workforce development programs
- Experience working with community partners, employers, or service providers
- Facilitation or teaching experience
- Knowledge or trauma informed or participant centered approaches
- Experience with outreach, recruitment or intake processes
