While in Nunavut, she also served in senior leadership roles within the labour movement, including Regional Vice President with the Nunavut Employees Union and Regional Vice President with the Northern Territories Federation of Labour.
Jacki brings extensive experience in the non-profit and social services sector across Canada, including serving in Alberta as Executive Director of the Slave Lake Homeless Coalition and Program Manager with Mackenzie Regional Victim Services.
Her career has been shaped by a long-standing commitment to advocacy for marginalized populations and strengthening community-based supports. That commitment has guided her work across every role she has held.
Before entering the social services field, Jacki worked as a firefighter in Alberta for three years after being told at a young age that firefighting wasn’t a path for women. During her time in fire services, she was named Rookie of the Year, trained in Hazmat and wildland firefighting, and competed in the Northern Heat competition alongside firefighters from across the province.
Jacki is passionate about collaboration, systems change, and building stronger supports for women, families, and vulnerable populations across PEI and beyond.
