The goal of this initiative is to develop youth leadership skills so they can have a voice in influencing changes to public policy that addresses the inequities that affect their sexual health.

The objectives of this initiative are:

1. to continue to enlarge our provincial network of partners and advocates of youth sexual health policy,

2. to develop youth leadership skills to influence sexual health public policy,

3. to provide opportunities for youth-led activities that will give them a voice with policy- makers across PEI.

This project will meet the following priorities of the Population Health Fund by:

  • focusing on youth through their meaningful involvement in the project,
  • assisting the community to influence, understand and communicate the public policy issue related to youth sexual health,
  • developing collaborative relationships between community groups and government for policy development, and
  • developing and strengthening networks that enhance our capacity to influence sexual health policy development.
