The Project:

The goal of our project is to partner with youth, parents and professionals/organizations in meaningful engagement, support and exchange of healthy sexuality models which address sexual exploitation and victimization in an Atlantic conference.

The objectives of our project are to:

1. encourage the broad sectors governing healthy sexuality for youth to partner in planning, hosting and facilitating an Atlantic conference,

2. provide opportunities for youth and partners to enhance their capacity, skills, training and knowledge of youth sexual health, effective sexual health education, positive social- environmental influences and non-exploitative/violence strategies,

3. engage stakeholders including policy makers to deliberate research findings and public policy guidelines from the region, and

4. host an Atlantic conference, utilizing youth-led, youth-professional mentorship models, which will support communities to embrace sexually non-exploitative values.

The three key components of this work will be:

  • partnership development through youth-led, youth-professional mentorship strategies,
  • knowledge and skill capacity development for youth, parents, and professionals, and
  • public policy engagement in youth sexual health, particularly addressing violence and exploitation.
The process and outcomes will be evaluated using the skills of an External Evaluator and a participatory framework. This will be another opportunity for youth to learn specialized skills.
