Become a Champion

Here at Women's Network PEI we consider a champion any person or organization that helps us realize a true positive change in women's lives in our province. You can become a Women's Network PEI champion by sponsoring our fundraising efforts.

What we do

For more than 30 years, Women's Network PEI has dedicated itself to improve the status of women in our society. Acting as a forum for the voices of women in PEI, this not-for-profit organization aims to provide opportunities for women to realize power, knowledge, abilities, vision and financial security.

Driven by its dynamic staff members, WNPEI has accomplished critical work through various projects, including:

Women's Economic Empowerment – Two programs under this project's umbrella support women to identify transferable skills and explore various career and employment opportunities: Propelle — a life skills and employment readiness program, and Trade HERizons — a career exploration and college preparation program. Both programs are free for participants.

TORCH Program for Women Leaders – a course for women who work in the non-profit/voluntary sector and have an interest in developing their leadership and management skills.

Paths to Prosperity – This three-year project engaged many stakeholders, including low-income women, community groups, government and employers, to create a collaborative model to support Island women and men living in poverty to transition to a sustainable livelihood.

A Bold Vision – In 2014, the Charlottetown Conference of 1864 was revitalized by 23 amazing Canadian women. These 23 aspiring and established leaders contributed to an anthology, participated in a Women's Leadership Conference and collaborated on a shared vision for Canada's future.

Boys Council – The Boys Council is a strengths-based group approach to promote boys' and young men's safe and healthy passage through pre-teen and adolescent years. The curriculum was based on the research and community consultation conducted by WNPEI and offered to students from age 9 to 14.

Girls Circle – This support group was delivered in schools across the Island to increase competence, positive connections, as well as personal and collective strengths in girls. The curriculum addresses different areas of girls' lives, including friendship, self-image, body-image, relationships and assertiveness.

Why we need your help

Women's Network PEI is a project-based organization, which means that funding sources are inconsistent. Even when the organization is selected to lead specific funded projects, its operational costs are never guaranteed. This makes the staff's work especially challenging. To address this pressing issue, the Board of Directors organizes fundraising events. The success of these events relies heavily on support from the community and the private sector.

What you can do

Become a Sponsor

Backing our fundraising efforts is a wonderful opportunity for local businesses to show their support for Island women. Private sector members can support WNPEI by making a donation directly to the organization or by taking advantage of sponsorship opportunities at any of our fundraising events. Whether it's through food, prizes, ticket sales or printed materials, your support allows us to cut back on event costs and make our fundraising efforts a success!
